University Park
A 2.4 million sf mixed-use project in Austin, Texas. Our work on the project includes the following: designing a 2,800 ton chilled water plant at the eastern edge of the site along IH-35; engineering an underground chilled water piping system to distribute chilled water throughout the 23-acre site; engineering a 780,000 sf mixed-use apartment building at the southeastern edge of the site with retail and parking components; engineering a medical office building with four levels of medical office and retail along with five levels of parking.
Applebees
We have a long-standing relationship with Applebee’s International, Inc., the Kansas City based corporate parent of the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar chain. We engineered a new small market prototype for Applebee’s, designed to be a less expensive building that can be built in smaller towns. Through prudent design, we were able to substantially reduce the cost of this prototype’s engineering systems, allowing Applebee’s to enter smaller markets where there is no competition from Chili’s, etc. We have rolled out Applebee’s designs from Minnesota and Michigan down through Kansas and Texas.
BMW
We engineered an ±80,000 square foot vehicle show room and maintenance facility for John Roberts BMW in Austin, Texas.
Lon Morris College
We engineered a new library and technology center for Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas, making computer resources more readily available to the students and faculty.
Public Storage
We engineered several climate-controlled, three-story, ±100,000 square foot self storage facilities for Public Storage, Inc.’s corporate development arm, and we continue to design similar facilities for private investors, primarily in the southeastern United States, from Florida to Texas.
Unisys
We engineered a 50,000 square foot regional call center for Unisys at the Monterey Oaks office complex on South Mopac in Austin, Texas. The project was designed to operate in the event of a full power failure and included an emergency generator, automatic transfer switch and a server system.
Wells Fargo
We engineered a new prototypical retail bank for Wells Fargo, reducing the cost of the building’s engineering systems while enhancing performance, and has rolled out the design to several locations in Texas.
