The Institure of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. ("Eye-Triple-E"). The scope of the IEEE is truly immense and their web site (actually, a group of sites) is a reflection of this. From this portal to the electronic world you can shop the IEEE catalog, get up-to-date news about the organization's dealings, search the site, and register for membership through an on-line application. An indispensable resource for the electrical engineer.

For over 90 years, its objective has been to communicate information on all aspects of good lighting practice to its members, to the lighting community, and to consumers, through a variety of programs, publications, and services.

The American Society of Plumbing Engineers. This site is interesting in that it offers much of the information it provides in either browser-base or Adobe Acrobat formats. This may not be the most visually stunning site, but the information is abundant and the applications real. Offering online versions of the ASPEReport, an newsletter of considerable size in HTML and PDF formats, as well as convention information, seminar and workshop information, CIPE certification, link to ASPE Chapters on-line, and much more.
